The publication presents information on the state and protection of the environment, human capital (including demographic processes and labour resources), inhabitant's quality of life, economy (including processes related to the development of entrepreneurship, implementation of investments, production and services), public finances, spatial planning and revitalization in Podlaskie Voivodship. Most of the information relates to 2023, and in the absence of availability – to the year preceding the analysed year. In order to better illustrate changes taking place in the region, a lot of data is presented in relation to the previous year, to 2020 and to 2015, and some of them – in a nine-year retrospective. Moreover, voivodship data were displayed against the background of the country, and some of them – against the background of other voivodships. Certain topics were also presented for the voivodship city and other cities with powiat status as well as by subregions (NUTS 3), powiats and gminas. Information in the elaboration is shown in the form of analytical commentary, enriched with tables, maps and charts.
