The publication presents an analysis of the demographic situation of the region in 2023 against the background of the previous year, and selected information has been shown in retrospection from 2000. It contains a wide set of data on the number and structure of the population, marriages, divorces, separations, births, deaths, life expectancy, the directions and intensity of migration, as well as population projection. The information contained therein applies to the voivodship in general, and some of them also to subregions (NUTS 3), powiats and gminas. The most important voivodship data are presented against the background of the country. The information is presented in the form of an analytical description, supplemented by small tables, maps and charts, as well as explanations of the terms used.

The elaboration is accompanied by a set of tables in the xls format containing detailed data on the demographic situation of the voivodship and its individual territorial division units.

This year's edition of the publication has been enriched with information on healthy life expectancy. In addition, the study presents the results of the latest population projection until 2060.
