The study illustrates demographic situation of the region in 2016. Selected information is shown in retrospection from 2000. It contains a wide set of data on the number and structure of the population, vital statistics, directions and the intensity of migration, life expectancy as well as on the population projection until 2050. Compared with the previous edition of publication, the range of presented data on vital statistics has been extended. Information included in the publication covers the whole voivodship, subregions, powiats as well as gminas in division into urban and rural areas. It is presented in the form of analytical commentary, tables, maps and graphs
